Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, is eager to bolster his squad before the summer transfer window closes on Friday.

After failing to buy Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure due to his exorbitant asking price, Klopp is reportedly eyeing Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi as an option. This interest in Ndidi is not new, as Liverpool previously shown interest in him five years ago.

Following Leicester’s relegation last season, Ndidi has been impressive in the Championship and might strengthen Liverpool’s midfield options. According to the Mirror, Ndidi would command a lower fee than Doucourse, making him a more feasible target for the Reds in the last days of the transfer window.

Klopp is determined to bring in new players after losing six first-team players this summer. Leicester are willing to do business with bidders for their players, boosting the likelihood of a trade for Ndidi.

The Nigerian midfielder joined Leicester in 2016 from Genk and has played 243 times for the club. Ndidi’s current deal expires in June 2024, putting Leicester under pressure to sell rather than risk losing him for free the following year.

While Liverpool works to recruit players before the deadline on Friday, the club also faces additional problems this week. There have been rumors about Mohamed Salah’s future, with Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia showing interest.

Salah, on the other hand, has been tight-lipped about his ambitions, and any prospective transfer saga involving the Egypt star may go beyond the Friday deadline, as the Saudi transfer market does not close until September 7.

Liverpool are interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.

Manchester United are also interested in signing Gravenberch, increasing rivalry for the signature of the Dutch international. Gravenberch is not a first-team option for Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel.
