Dominik Szoboszlai has revealed that the intensity of training at Liverpool has taken him by surprise
So far, the 22-year-old has delighted everyone at his new club, breezing through pre-season fitness tests and proving himself to be in excellent shape.
Szoboszlai, who made his Liverpool debut last night, told Hungarian publication Nemzeti Sport that he’s never seen training like this before.
“I was used to working hard, but I have to say that I have never had three training sessions in one day, let alone with this intensity,” he remarked. “I’d rather get off my bike than ride up the hill after the last training session.” Nonetheless, I appreciate the activities.
Szoboszlai also discussed how he’s adjusting to his new teammates.
“The atmosphere is good, the [team]mates are brilliant, I like the atmosphere,” Reds No. 8 stated. “I’m happy to be here.”
Szoboszlai was taken aback by Red’s ferocity.
It’s encouraging to hear that Jurgen is putting the boys through their paces as hard as ever this year.
Following a poor season, it is critical that Liverpool strike the ground running from the first whistle.
Last night, their hard work began to pay off as they received their first taste of preseason play. It wasn’t always easy playing against the Bundesliga. 2 side Karlsruher SC, but it was a good exercise for the Reds.
It was also Szoboszlai’s debut game as a Liverpool player. It had to have made those exhausting triple sessions worthwhile.
Things should now be a little easier. With his fitness hopefully restored over the summer, Klopp will concentrate on getting his new-look squad into the greatest form possible.
His new No.8 is expected to be key in this regard. Szoboszlai appears to be willing to accomplish everything the manager asks of him on the field.
Don’t worry, Dom, the race is nearly over. But now comes the actual work!
