Jamie Carragher says Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is in ‘the form of his life’ following a hat-trick of assists against Leicester City tonight

Salah did not score on Monday night, but he was instrumental in the Reds’ eighth successive win. The Egyptian King assisted on three Liverpool goals.

His first performance of the night was possibly the most stunning. Mo received the ball inside the Leicester area and lofted a beautiful cross for Curtis Jones to run onto and slot home. In an interview with Sky Sports after the game, Carragher underlined Salah’s ongoing excellence.

“You bring up Salah again, he’s heavily involved, you bring up Liverpool, and we might get into it a little bit more about this new set-up,” added the Reds legend. “You have five attacking players to really go forward, and Curtis Jones has reaped the benefits of this system.”

“But Mo Salah’s pass is brilliant, it really is.” And he’s currently in the best form of his life. There was some conjecture that it wouldn’t happen this season for him, but he’s in the best shape of his life.”

Salah makes up for lost time.
On Monday, Mo might get lost among the star performances from Jones and Trent Alexander-Arnold. But the 30-year-old was once again exceptional.

Surprisingly, he has now achieved another personal milestone for the season: he has never previously had a hat-trick of assists in a single game. Even when he does not find the net, Salah has a tremendous impact.

He, too, ought to have had a goal. Mo shanked his effort wide of Daniel Iversen’s goal late in the game when placed through one-on-one. You’d put your money on him scoring.

Regardless, it did not detract from an otherwise excellent performance. Mo has performed admirably in the last six weeks, when Liverpool has desperately needed him. This was yet another instance.

In the Reds’ last ten Premier League games, only eight goals and three assists have been scored. He became only the division’s second player to have double-digit goals and assists tonight. Woof.

If Salah can maintain his current form into next season, we’ll be laughing. One of the reasons Liverpool is in this position is because of his failures to get going this season.

But, having started to make up for lost time, Mo is back to his best. Carragher is certain of it.
