Rangers will try to make money in the upcoming summer. Barry Ferguson remarks about Rabbi Matondo following his loan move to Hannover during the winter transfer window.
If all goes according to plan in Germany, the former GERS star thinks the Light Blues would try to recover some of the money they invested on the 24-year-old.
Ferguson feels the Wales forward’s transfer away from Ibrox was best for both sides due to his limited minutes this season. Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (3 February), the 47-year-old said: “I think it was best for both parties.
Not really, [Matondo] was participating. Injury after injury has plagued his career. I think he was also a good earner. “Until the end of the season, he will be on loan there, and Rangers can certainly try to recoup some of the transfer cost they spent if he does well. Hopefully, they may profit from him if he performs well.

Rabbi Matondo’s permanent departure from Rangers is approved for next summer. Despite joining the Bears from Schalke in the summer of 2022, Matondo’s growth at the Glaswegian team has been hindered by injuries.
With other players emerging, the 24-year-old struggled to return to the team after suffering another fitness issue at the beginning of the season.
Philippe Clement no longer seemed to trust the Welshman, therefore it was appropriate to break up with him.
Ianis Hagi, whose comeback has been welcomed by the Ibrox supporters, appears to be Rangers’ answer for their left-wing.
Since making a comeback to the starting lineup, the Romanian playmaker has contributed, and his brace in the 4-0 victory over Ross County on February 2nd validates his regular inclusion in recent games.
Although Vaclav Cerny has solidified his position in the Light Blues’ attack, it is unclear if his loan from Wolfsburg will be extended. The Bears would be better off letting Matondo go because his transfer hasn’t worked out.
