Spurs are aiming to bolster their front line ahead of a key season in north London
Tottenham Hotspur are now ‘negotiating’ a move for Brennan Johnson with Nottingham Forest, and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano revealed how close they are to completing a deal while speaking to GIVEMESPORT.

Spurs paid £100 million to Bayern Munich for Harry Kane earlier in the transfer window and are expected to reinvest at least a portion of that sum in another center-forward alternative.
Tottenham Hotspur move news – Brennan Johnson Richarlison has been the club’s lone option up front in their three Premier League games this season, but it is unclear whether new manager Ange Postecoglou is totally comfortable with the possibility of the Brazilian leading the Tottenham line this season. As a result, according to MailOnline, Tottenham are set to make a £50 million bid for Johnson before the transfer deadline on Friday.
Spurs’ cross-London rivals Brentford had already spurned down a £35 million bid from the Welshman’s employers, as Johnson remains an important component of Steve Cooper’s plans for 2023/24. And now, according to Romano, Brentford have withdrawn from the discussion, leaving the door open for Tottenham to pounce on the in-demand Forest jewel, branded as a “superstar” by journalist Ariel Helwani.

Fortunately for Tottenham fans, manager Ange Postecoglou is a ‘big fan’ of Johnson, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge, while Italian journalist Romano has provided GIVEMESPORT with the latest on Johnson’s well-documented future.
Fabrizio Romano’s thoughts on Tottenham Hotspur and Brennan Johnson.
Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Romano stated that talks between Tottenham and Forest are still ongoing, with the Tricky Trees asking for £50 million.
“They are negotiating with Nottingham Forest for Brennan Johnson, but Forest want at least £50 million,” he claimed. They rejected £43 million from Brentford, so they want a pretty important sum of money from Tottenham for Johnson, as well as extremely good payment terms, which are critical in these kinds of negotiations for Forest.”

What lies ahead for Tottenham Hotspur?
However, Johnson is not the only player the north London-based club has targeted as a direct Kane replacement this summer. Journalist Rudy Galetti recently told GIVEMESPORT that Gent striker Gift Orban and Lille striker Jonathan David are on the top of their summer wishlists and, as a result, could be heading to London before the deadline on Friday. According to French media, David wants to leave his Ligue 1 club this summer, and the Premier League is his favourite destination, while Romano recently told GIVEMESPORT that Orban is open to a move to north London in the aftermath of Kane’s tragic departure.
