Gabri Veiga, a midfielder for Celta Vigo, has not yet been signed by Newcastle United, according to Fabrizio Romano, who maintains that there is still competition for his services.

Earlier this month, sources in Spain said the Magpies were about to sign the 21-year-old, beating off Real Madrid and Liverpool, but as NewcastleWorld also revealed, those claims were exaggerated.

Veiga just signed with Israeli superagent Pini Zahavi, and Celta president Carlos Mourino has already stated that he anticipates losing him this summer because to his £34 million release clause.
They are planning to purchase him from us, despite the fact that we have no desire to sell him, according to Mourino. We are aware of some offers, but we are unable to pay him as much as other teams can.

“Gabri has a Celtic feeling and will always keep the doors open, but he will only rely on him and he is the only one who can make decisions for him,” They are providing him with unquestionable evidence. He will choose his destination, but the club must fulfill the clause.

On the final day of the La Liga season last month, Veiga gave a man-of-the-match performance against Barcelona to mark what is likely to be his final game for Celta.

As Celta survived relegation from Spain’s top division, the midfielder scored twice and cut an emotional figure the entire evening, sparking talk of a farewell performance.

According to Romano, Liverpool is keeping an eye on Veiga’s position. Newcastle, however, is believed to have temporarily removed itself from a potential transaction.
