“Eyes on No. 9: Trent Noah All-In on Kentucky’s Championship Dream Under Coach Pope”

In a powerful declaration of loyalty, belief, and ambition, Kentucky sophomore forward Trent Noah made one thing abundantly clear: he’s all in on the Wildcats, and he’s dreaming big. With a championship mindset already in place, Noah is aligning himself fully with the bold new vision of head coach Mark Pope, as Kentucky begins its next chapter in pursuit of banner No. 9.

“This is the greatest place on earth and I love Coach Pope’s vision for me,” Noah said in a recent interview. “He’s on kind of the same path that I see. So, that’s what we’re looking to do this year and, on the way, win No. 9.”

For Noah, the decision to stay at Kentucky  and thrive  is about more than just basketball. It’s about legacy. It’s about family. It’s about making Rupp Arena shake again. And with Coach Pope ushering in a new era of toughness, speed, and chemistry, the pieces are starting to align.

Noah, a gritty in-state product from Harlan County, saw limited minutes as a freshman but proved he could contribute whenever called upon. Now, under Pope’s fast-paced system and positionless philosophy, the 6-foot-6 wing is expected to be a crucial rotational piece capable of spacing the floor, crashing the glass, and guarding multiple spots.

Pope’s trust in Noah is a huge reason for his renewed fire.

It’s clear that the chemistry is already building between players like Noah, Otega Oweh, and Jayden Quaintance. There’s an edge to this team. There’s belief. And there’s no hiding what the goal is.

Win it all.

“We’re not just building a team, we’re building something special,” Noah said. “Coach Pope sees that in us  and we see it in him.”

The countdown to Kentucky’s 2025–26 season has begun, and Trent Noah’s message is loud and clear:

Kentucky isn’t backing down. Kentucky’s coming for No. 9.
