EXCLUSIVE: Neil Lennon says Tottenham are too large for Kyogo Furuhashi and that the Celtic attacker isn’t ready for the ‘highest level’.

After being connected with Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur, Neil Lennon has questioned if Kyogo Furuhashi has what it takes to make it at the high end of the English Premier League.

Last season, the Japanese forward scored 34 goals as the Australian guided Celtic to the Triple Crown.

The 28-year-old, who cost £4.6 million from Vissel Kobe at the start of Postecoglou‘s reign, has been linked with a transfer to North London if Bayern Munich sign captain Harry Kane.

While former Parkhead manager Lennon has been impressed with Furuhashi‘s impact in Glasgow over the last two years, he is not certain that he is ready for the increased challenge that Spurs would bring.

‘I have my reservations,’ he said to Mail Sport. ‘I don’t think he could ever replace Harry Kane, for example, if it were to happen.’He’s an excellent player. I admire his fashion sense. ‘I’m just not convinced he can play consistently at the greatest level in the Premier League week in and week out.’The second issue is that you have Kane there right now, as well as (Heung-Min) Son, (Dejan) Kulusevski, and Richarlison.

‘These are world-class players into whom he would need to break if he joins Spurs. I believe he could play in the Premier League, but perhaps not at the highest level right now.’

Meanwhile, Celtic are nearing an agreement with Australian international attacker Marco Tilio.
The paperwork is being finalized, and the deal for the Melbourne City attacker may be completed by the end of the week, according to Mail Sport.
The dynamic 21-year-old attacker is at home on either wing and can even play through the centre. Last season, he scored nine goals for Melbourne City, who won the A-League title.

He is now likely to become Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers‘ second signing since his return to the club earlier this month to replace Postecoglou.

The Scottish champions confirmed the acquisition of Norwegian midfielder Odin Thiago Holm on a five-year contract last week.

The 20-year-old arrived from Valerenga in his native Brazil for a cost of £2.5 million, and Rodgers stated last week that he was looking for more new faces to join a side that won the domestic Treble under Postecoglou last season.

‘It’s a terrific moment to strengthen anytime you’ve done well,’ he remarked. There won’t be a lot of numbers.

‘They’ve established a squad over the previous several years, so it’s a question of improving that and adding quality where we can. I’m extremely enthusiastic about the guys here since it’s a young group with a lot of room for development.’
