Mason Greenwood, who has been out of action for over a year and a half, might make a return to Manchester United
Erik ten Hag is said to be pleased that the 21-year-old forward is free to play after allegations of attempted rape, assault, and controlling and coercive behavior were dismissed in February.
While the United manager may be prepared to bring Greenwood back, the final decision on his future rests with the club’s senior figures, namely the Glazer family.
Following the outcome of a club investigation, a resolution to the matter is expected within the next week.
According to The Sun, most of Greenwood’s teammates would welcome his return to the club, despite the fact that he had not trained with them since January 2022, when he was detained.
However, while he is thought to have the backing of the majority of his teammates, it is not a belief shared by everyone affiliated with the club, as earlier this year, the Manchester United Women’s team objected to his return, believing that he should leave the club permanently.

Greenwood’s comeback will be difficult, since Natalie Burrell, the founder of United Women’s Supporters’ Club, stated just three months ago that she never wants to see him wear a United shirt again.
“United needs to make a statement, and letting him back in would be the worst thing they could do,” she explained.
“It would be detrimental to our club’s efforts with our women’s team and campaigns like Her Game Too, which aim to encourage women to play and watch football.”

According to reports, if Greenwood does depart, he might go on loan until the club reassesses his position in a year.
