The Duke women’s basketball team ended its 2024-25 regular season with two consecutive ranked victories, and as a result, the Blue Devils shuffled up four spots to No. 11 in Tuesday’s USA TODAY Sports women’s basketball coaches poll.
The Blue Devils handed the North Carolina Tar Heels a 68-52 loss in Durham last Thursday thanks to Reigan Richardson’s 23 points in her final game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Three days later, freshman forward Toby Fournier dropped 28 points against the Florida State Seminoles in a 71-57 victory that helped her pick up her sixth ACC Rookie of the Week award.
UNC also lost to Virginia in its final regular-season game, tumbling down five spots to No. 14. Among ACC teams, only the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (No. 6) and NC State Wolfpack (No. 8) finished above the Blue Devils in Tuesday’s voting
The Texas Longhorns cleaned up with all but two of a possible 31 first-place votes, opening up a dominant margin over the USC Trojans for the top spot. The Connecticut Huskies, UCLA Bruins, and South Carolina Gamecocks each found a place in the top five.
Duke, now the third overall seed in the ACC Tournament with a 14-4 conference record, awaits its quarterfinal opponent on Friday night.
