Duke Makes Big Recruiting Move on Sunday
The Duke Blue Devils, led by head coach Jon Scheyer, are fresh off a 35-4 season.
Duke made it to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament but ultimately lost to the Houston Cougars. On the way to San Antonio, the Blue Devils defeated Alabama, Arizona, Baylor and Mount St. Mary’s.
After the season, Duke lost a plethora of talent.
Scheyer and his staff must rebuild the roster to its Final Four form, filling the holes left by Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, Tyrese Proctor and Khaman Maluach, all of whom declared for the 2025 NBA draft.
On Sunday, Duke decided to make a move on five-star prospect Christian Collins.
247Sports reporter Dushawn London initially stated that Duke would be visiting Collins at his high school on Monday, but later mentioned that they have moved the recruiting date to Tuesday.
The Blue Devils will be at St. John Bosco, where Collins attends high school in Bellflower, Calif.
Collins, a 6-foot-8, class of 2026 product, is ranked as a five-star prospect, listed as the No. 1 power forward and the No. 5 overall player in the nation, per 247Sports.
Alabama, Arizona State, Arizona, California and Georgia Tech are among the programs that have shown interest in Collins.
Before Collins makes his college basketball decision, Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils will be welcoming in some fresh talent from the class of 2025.
The Blue Devils have three blue-chip prospects committed to the program for next season: five-star Cameron Boozer, five-star Nikolas Khamenia and four-star Cayden Boozer.
