Tottenham’s lengthy hunt for a new center-back could be coming to an end
Indeed, according to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are close to reaching an agreement with Wolfsburg to sign Micky Van de Ven.
The £30 million defender has been linked with Spurs for some time now, and it appears that a deal is imminent.
Van de Ven could be exactly what Tottenham needs.

The Dutch center-back is an exceptional defender. Van de Ven is a contemporary defender in every sense of the term, blessed with incredible speed and a strong left foot.
With Ange Postecoglou favouring a high line, speed is essential for any of his center-halves, and Van de Ven certainly has it.
Van de Ven is one of many promising Dutch center-halves emerging at the moment, and he, together with Matthijs De Ligt and Sven Botman, will be a rock at the back for the Dutch national team for many years to come.
Tottenham wanted a defender in as soon as possible because we’re reaching crunch time before the start of the Premier League season, and it appears that they have finally acquired their man.
Of course, Spurs tend to drag these transactions out, so we may not get confirmation right away, but if Tottenham wants the defender to hit the ground running, they need to bring him in as soon as possible.
