After Liverpool’s 4-1 loss to Napoli last night, Clarence Seedorf compared Roberto Firmino to Karim Benzema

Firmino did start the game, but Darwin Nunez has increased competition for his spot this season, and some critics believe he is losing steam.
During the game’s Prime Video coverage, Seedorf stated that he should start every game for Liverpool.
Seedorf likens Firmino to Benzema.
“Diego Maradona immediately makes you realize that you can’t come here for a walk,” he said, “and I think the Liverpool players have already realized that.” Firmino would be on my team at all times. Liverpool has done well in recent years because he is similar to Real Madrid’s Benzema.
“He’s learned to play a little deeper and on the wings.”
“Despite Nunez’s arrival, he is a nine who can read what the team needs, and Klopp will place a lot of emphasis on him this season.”
Nunez joined Luis Diaz at Liverpool in January, sparking much speculation about a new frontline.
Liverpool’s contracts for Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, and Firmino all expired simultaneously, so the solution was to extend one, sell one, and ostensibly phase Firmino out.
That is still possible, but Seedorf clearly expects the Brazilian to have a big season as Liverpool looks to improve on their shaky start to the season.
