Chelsea and Newcastle United are said to be interested in signing Egyptian winger Ibrahim Adel. Fellow countryman Mohamed Salah, who has played alongside Adel for Egypt’s national team, is alleged to have recommended that Jurgen Klopp make a move for the 22-year-old.

However, it appears like Chelsea are the most likely to sign him. According to journalist Graeme Bailey, the Blues hope to sign the attacker this summer before loaning him out to their new Ligue 1 feeder club Strasbourg.

“We’re told on this one that Chelsea’s interest is to send him to Strasbourg as well, Ibrahim Adel, he’s a player we’ve spoken about before, Mo Salah recommended him to Liverpool,” Bailey stated on the Talking Transfers podcast.

“He is one of the best young African football players.” He’s been there for a long; he plays for Pyramids in Egypt; Mo Salah likes him and suggested him to Liverpool.”

90-minute claim Newcastle are also interested in signing the Egyptian, and they are among a rising number of English clubs interested in him, including Brighton, Brentford, Aston Villa, West Ham, Burnley, and Southampton.

Adel is recognized as one of Africa’s most promising young players, and he now plays for Pyramids FC in the Egyptian Premier League. His outstanding performance at the recent Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations earned him the title of Player of the Tournament, and he has subsequently been called up to the senior squad.

Last summer, Salah recommended Liverpool not to pursue Adel owing to difficulties acquiring a work permit.

However, the FA’s new regulations allow each club to recruit up to two international players who would not have previously passed the Governing Body Endorsement criteria’s earlier points criterion. As a result, Adel appears to be on his way to England this season.
