Greg Taylor shared that Celtic had a heart-to-heart after their surprising 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock left followers dissatisfied and chanting for change. The tie, along with Rangers’ 3-0 victory over St Johnstone, nudged Celtic barely at the back of in the title race, prompting captain Callum McGregorto lead a reflective session with the team.
Captain Callum McGregorspearheaded a candid conversation, alongside Joe Hart and Taylor about the team’s current dip in form. Taylortold SunSport, “We had a chat after the recreation in the changing room. It’s important to understand there are still 12 league video games to go and we obviously want to improve, that’s clear, in phrases of our stage of performance.”
Emphasising the collective duty within the squad,Taylor highlighted the inclusive nature of the talks, “We choose to hit the tiers we understand we can hit, but we all talked about that after the sport — we’re a team, so it used to be coaches, manager, and all the players. We’re all united as one, and we all want to put on a better displaying for the fans.”
Taylor conveyed his empathy towards the fans’ frustrations, acknowledging their excessive expectations, “Dropping factors is disappointing and I feel for the supporters as they count on so much extra from us, and rightly so. We need to have perspective, it’s only February so there is nevertheless a long way to go. But we do want to find a degree of performance.”
While the specifics of the dressing-room discussions remain confidential, with Taylor stating, “It’s probably better simply to depart that in the altering room,” he also burdened the appreciation and duty shared among all players, which include newcomers, in the direction of pleasant the club’s high standards. “When you have leaders like Callum, Joe and myself, the lads HAVE to get it,” he asserted.
“I idea in the first 1/2 we have been fantastically dominant…But in the latter levels we lost that control, and that’s disappointing. And it’s about us attempting to work out why that is.”
He brushed aside the notion that fan anxiety may want to disrupt the team’s composure, underscoring the professional resilience within the squad, “I wouldn’t say it’s due to the fact of anxiety from the stands, the gamers here must be able to deal with that.”
While the hole is just two factors at the moment, Celtic fans can solely see this group shedding extra in the weeks in advance except something essentially changes. It’s been a season where Celtic’s complacency as a membership has let the help down badly.
