Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is interested in signing Lecce teenager Patrick Dorgu, according to the left-back’s agent
Dorgu spent 2022/23 on loan at Nordsjaelland in Denmark and will officially join Lecce on July 1 for €200,000.
The 18-year-old will sign a four-year contract, allowing the Serie A club to earn handsomely if he is sold this summer or next.

Dorgu spent 2022/23 on loan at Nordsjaelland in Denmark and will officially join Lecce on July 1 for €200,000.
The 18-year-old will sign a four-year contract, allowing the Serie A club to earn handsomely if he is sold this summer or next.
Dorgu did not play for Lecce’s first squad last season, instead appearing 38 times for their Under-19s across all competitions.
His agent, Kingsley Ogbodo, has stated that Liverpool has been monitoring his client for some time.
Ogbodo has warned the teenage defender not to join Liverpool since he will have to play for the club’s U23 team before receiving an opportunity in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
“Liverpool are interested in him.” Liverpool have been monitoring him and are interested in him for some time, but if he gets there, he will have to play in the U23 team,” Ogbodo told Danish site Bold.
“It’s not the best (move) for him, so I don’t recommend it.” They can make him a large sum of money, but that is not what we are looking for right now. We are concerned with his career, development, and playing time.”
“Of course, Liverpool are not the only club interested in him,” Ogbodo stated. Many clubs in the United Kingdom are keeping an eye on him.
“Manchester City kept an eye on him when he played for the U19 national team against England in Hobro, Denmark.”
“A scout from Lecce has also told me that Barcelona is keeping an eye on Patrick because he’s a huge talent.”
“We’d like him to stay a little longer in Lecce.” He needs two more seasons to mature and gather experience.”
“So when he moves on to a bigger club in a few seasons, we’ll know he’s ready for it.”
