After a dismal 1 win in 12 games, which matched Manchester City’s streak, the former Rangers great was fired from his first managerial position.

You are always one outcome away from the axe in the challenging profession of football management.

And earlier today, a former Rangers player discovered just that.

After a terrible run of results with the Cod Army, Charlie Adam was fired by Fleetwood Town in League Two, England, in his first position as an independent boss.

Adam’s team has only triumphed once in their last 12 games, that being a close 1-0 success over Bradford at home in early November.

Earlier this morning, the coach met his demise with the EFL club.

Fleetwood just managed one shot on goal during the afternoon’s 2-0 loss to Barrow, which sealed the manager’s doom.

Adam left his team in 18th place, only a few points above the drop zone, and facing the prospect of relegation.

Fleetwood Town fired Charlie Adam as manager.
Fleetwood expressed their gratitude to the 39-year-old rookie coach for their decision.

“Fleetwood Town can confirm Charlie Adam has left the club with immediate effect,” the statement said.

“Everyone at Fleetwood Town is grateful to Charlie for his dedication and hard work.

“In due time, the Club will provide an additional update regarding the first team staff.”

Jamie Pilley, the club’s owner, went on to say: “I want to personally thank Charlie for his dedication and professionalism over the last 12 months.”

Although working with him has been enjoyable, we decided that a change was required in light of recent outcomes.

“I hope he has a bright future.”

Adam’s recent success is comparable to Pep Guardiola’s at Manchester City.
Adam left his position just short of a year after taking over Fleetwood on New Year’s Eve last year.

He matches Pep Guardiola’s current record of one win in twelve with Manchester City, who have lost three of their last four games.

Yesterday afternoon, City fell to Aston Villa 2-1, losing once more.

Early in the season, Adam had led his now-former side to just one defeat in nine games, but in the last several months, they have collapsed.
