According to Italian media, Liverpool is once again in the running to capture Inter Milan striker Nicolo Barella

Barella has long been a Reds target, but he is currently regarded as unrealistic. The midfielder is said to be content in Milan, and Inter are unwilling to sell.

However, Calciomercato writes today that Inter’s stance on Barella may suddenly have some wriggle room.

According to the outlet, the signing of Lazar Samardzic may have pushed Inter closer to a big-money transfer of Barella.

Liverpool is said to be interested in the Italian once more, and if a deal of roughly £68 million is made, Inter may be dragged to the table to talk. Manchester City is also said to be interested.

Barella is largely regarded as one of the best midfielders in Europe, if not Serie A. Furio Valcareggi, an Italian agent, proclaimed him the best midfielder in the world.

After losing Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, Liverpool is aiming to strengthen their midfield. They are attempting to recruit Romeo Lavia, but Klopp admires Barella and, if he becomes available, he may be in the mix as well.

The cherry on top for Liverpool
The scenes at Anfield if Liverpool were to sign Nicolo Barella would be incredible.

So often, a player who has been connected to the club but has little substance to go on now appears to have a legitimate chance to join.

Barella would be a fantastic signing for the Reds. The Italian, a true world-class midfielder, would bring even more quality to a Liverpool team that is already looking strong.
