Liverpool are still looking for midfield reinforcements ahead of the new season

This summer, the Reds have already signed two midfielders, Alexis MacAllister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

However, Jordan Henderson’s departure from Anfield and Fabinho’s impending departure have pushed Jurgen Klopp’s hand.

Much of the current Liverpool conjecture has centered on Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.

Other names, though, have been making the rounds in recent months.

Tyler Adams of Leeds United is one of them, according to TEAMtalk, with Liverpool keeping an eye on him.

The Athletic has provided an update that claims the Reds can have him for next to nothing (in football terms).

According to the report, the US captain has a £20 million release clause in his Elland Road contract.

In our opinion
Liverpool are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements, and what better reinforcement could there be than a World Cup captain?

Adams captained the United States at last year’s tournament in Qatar, where he performed admirably.

USMNT legend DaMarcus Beasley rated the rumoured Liverpool target as one of the tournament’s best midfielders.

“If you look at a player that shows his importance to a team, the man is Tyler Adams,” he said on Fox’s World Cup Now, according to the Daily Mail.

‘What he does for the US squad is amazing. The way he tracks back and covers… Look at his aggression and his

“I believe he has a high ceiling.” And I believe he is one of the tournament’s top midfielders. Not only for the national team, but also for this event.”

If the allegation is correct and Adams’ contract includes this condition, Leeds will have no choice but to let him go.

For any top-tier player nowadays, £20 million is a fair deal, but for Adams, it would be a steal.

Liverpool, on the other hand, will need to act quickly. There will undoubtedly be a slew of clubs vying for his services.
