Leeds United are close to obtaining Glen Kamara from Scottish powerhouse Rangers, according to Chris Jack of The Herald Scotland
The two parties are close to agreeing on a permanent transfer fee of between £2.5 and £5 million, and the 27-year-old is poised to become Daniel Farke’s latest acquisition. Personal details have already been agreed upon, and Leeds and Rangers are eager to seal a deal as soon as possible while the transfer window is still open.
Kamara joined Rangers from Dundee United in 2019 and has made 193 appearances for the Glasgow-based team. He has also played for Southend United, Colchester United, and Arsenal, where he made one EFL Cup appearance.
Leeds is desperate for new players after a tumultuous summer. Due to several big departures, Daniel Farke will need to reconstruct his club as the season develops. As the deadline approaches, there are still unsolved issues, such as the ongoing Wilfred Gnonto scandal and doubt about Patrick Bamford and numerous other key players.
The Elland Road club will likely be active in the transfer market in the coming days, and they may even pull off a few surprises as they look to boost the squad after a difficult start in which they won only one of their first four games.
Leeds desperately needs reinforcements, so the fact that another one is almost ready to be signed is reassuring. Instead of having their attention pulled in too many directions, this should allow them to move on and concentrate on other team members.
With more parties interested in the race and many crucial issues remaining to be settled, Nottingham Forrest’s pursuit of O’Brien appears to have become more difficult. The following several days are going to be quite hectic.
