According to a source, Gers “show interest” in a £5 million star who Jose Mourinho says is performing at his “best level.”

In France, Rangers is one of three teams that have been unexpectedly linked to Fenerbahce winger Oguz Aydin

With Philippe Clement acknowledging that transfer negotiations are imminent, there is a lot of discussion over how the Ibrox team would approach the forthcoming January transfer window.

A few names are already circulating; Kwame Poku and Carney Chukwuemeka, for example, have lately made news.

However, some of the more intriguing connections Rangers have made to date are with Turkish winger Oguz Aydin, who is a huge admirer of Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho.

Rangers are pursuing Oguz Aydin as “one of three.”
According to reports, Rangers, Ligue 1 team Stade Rennais, and Greek Super League team AEK Athens are “showing interest” in the Oguz Aydin scenario.

Le Courrier Europeen, a French website that has been giving updates on the 24-year-old winger’s future, claims that this is the case.

Oguz Aydin, a right-footed right-winger by nature, can also play off the left. His arrival at Fenerbahce in the summer virtually meant the end for Ryan Kent, the now-released former Ibrox winger.

According to the French newspaper, the Istanbul team spent a reported £5 million (€6 million) to recruit Aydin from Alanyaspor, and the same amount would be needed to sign the winger in January.

This is true even though Aydin just made his debut at Turkish Super Lig rivals and signed a deal with Fenerbahce that would last until 2028.

Aydin is said to be considered a player with a lot of “development potential,” making him a good fit for Rangers’ updated player trading strategy.

Although Rangers supporters will find the connection thrilling, Jose Mourinho’s recent remarks indicate that the transfer appears especially ambitious from the outside.

Rangers’ “transfer target” is praised by Jose Mourinho.

Since completing his €6 million (£5 million) transfer from Alanyaspor in the summer, Oguz Aydin has had a mixed season at Fenerbahce.

Aydin, who was born in the Netherlands and played for the Turkish national team, only saw 22 minutes of action in the first 12 Super Lig games, as Mourinho preferred Allan Saint-Maximin.

With an outstanding double and assist performance in the 6-2 victory over Kayserispor, however, the winger has started to turn the tide in recent games.

Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has praised Oguz Aydin’s impact since joining the team this summer, adding another goal in the 3-1 victory over Gaziantep.

In remarks that may cause Rangers supporters and others to question a possible transfer, the Special One praised Aydin for reaching his “optimal level” earlier than anticipated.

According to Mourinho, the teams that passed up Oguz Aydin this summer—with Besiktas and Ajax being mentioned—will now regret it.

Marca quotes Mourinho’s early December statement about Aydin as saying, “He is a good player physically and tactically and very intelligent.”

“With all due respect, the manager of Turkey, Vincenzo Montella, ought to be pleased. The team that didn’t sign him will probably be disappointed.

At the last minute, we hauled him in. I begged him to wait for me. He wasn’t prepared, but four to five months later, he’s at his best. I’m thrilled for him.
