A trustworthy journalist has officially validated James Pearce’s exciting Liverpool transfer rumor.

Since the start of last season, Liverpool has been linked with a number of midfielders, and while the rumour mill tends to produce a new name every few days, when one name emerges many times by different journalists, it may be time to start paying attention.

On Twitter, Jacque Talbot shared a list of possible midfielders, writing: ‘Gravenberch is an option, as is Celta Virgo’s Gabri Veiga, as others have stated. K Thuram and Manu Kone assessed the remaining window; whether the Reds will return is unknown.’

The name Ryan Gravenberch may be of interest because it corroborates claims made by James Pearce for The Athletic, which stated: ‘Gravenberch will be one of many under consideration. Bellingham is clearly the priority’.

There appears to be universal consensus that we intend to sign Jude Bellingham this summer, but considering that we are not alone in admiring the talents of the Borussia Dortmund youngster, we need a backup plan.

With many sources naming the Bayern Munich midfielder as a potential alternative for Jurgen Klopp, it’s logical to assume that those in charge of our transfer procedures believe the 20-year-old is a feasible option.

However, given that he was signed from Ajax last summer, luring him away from the Allianz Arena would not be cheap, especially after making 24 appearances for the German champions.

Despite the fact that Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arthur Melo, and Bobby Firmino are all set to go this summer, and it is likely that we will buy many midfielders, we only have enough money for one marquee player. Still, it’s great to see some planning for what to do if Bellingham does not visit Merseyside.

In response to Liverpool’s announcement that Michael Laffey has signed to a professional contract at Anfield, Jamie Carragher tweeted

The 17-year-old has a professional deal after succeeding for Liverpool’s Under-18 team.

Laffey, a center midfielder with the Reds, has appeared in nine Under-18 Premier League games this season, scoring two goals to help Liverpool finish fourth in the table.

Earlier this season, he scored in a 4-2 win over Manchester United’s Under-18 team before netting the game-winning goal in a 2-1 triumph over Blackburn’s young guns.

After hearing the news, Carragher tweeted, “Great prospect! Laffey, keep up the fantastic work.”

Laffey, who formerly played for Merseyside rivals Everton, has been with Liverpool since he was a toddler.

According to Liverpool’s official release, the Merseyside-born prodigy is a set-piece specialist who routinely takes freekicks and corners for the Under-18 team.

Laffey is also said to have a “strong range of passing and outstanding awareness,” as well as the ability to “bind his squad together in the centre of the field, get on the ball, and impose a tempo on the game” – amazing stuff.

LAFFEY SHOULD GET LIVERPOOL FANS EXCITED.
We see no reason why Liverpool fans shouldn’t be excited about Laffey, especially with Jürgen Klopp in charge until at least 2026, based on the pearls that have come from Kirkby in previous decades.

To name a few, he has overseen the development of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Neco Williams, Ben Doak, and Mateusz Musialowski.

Klopp also cultivated a number of gems at Borussia Dortmund, giving Christian Pulisic a significant opportunity while also transforming Mario Götze into a superstar.

Keep an eye on Laffey, as if his current performances continue, he could make his first-team debut soon.
