Paul Joyce is without a doubt one of the most reliable reporters covering Liverpool

Indeed, the Times reporter is renowned for breaking several important scoops about the Reds first and before anyone else.

In the summer, Joyce was the first to reveal the club’s interest in Darwin Nunez, and on Boxing Day, he was the first to announce the Reds’ pursuit of Cody Gakpo

Now, Joyce has provided another update about Liverpool in a piece for The Times, but alas, this one isn’t as interesting.

In fact, Joyce claims that until a fantastic opportunity arises for the Reds, Liverpool’s January transfer business is finished

It would stand to reason that Liverpool wouldn’t sign another player the following month, but Joyce has said this previously

The same reporter claimed that Liverpool had completed its transfer activity in the summer following the acquisition of Calvin Ramsay, however as is well known, the Merseyside club did recruit Arthur Melo on a deadline day loan.

Liverpool will be hoping that any more late transfers they make this window are a better choice than their acquisition of Arthur.

The Brazilian hasn’t had much of an impact at Anfield so far, and in all honesty, it’s beginning to seem like he was a fairly meaningless acquisition.
