A Duke star signs his first professional contract with Racing Louisville.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Racing Louisville FC has signed Ella Hase, a former Duke University star to her first professional contract, a two-year deal with a mutual option for 2027, the club announced Thursday.

Hase finished second in Division-I soccer with 13 assists in 2024, helping lead the Blue Devils to the 2024 College Cup and earning NCAA College Cup All-Tournament team and All-ACC second team honors.

The left-footed outside back stated, “I’m incredibly honored and excited to start my professional career with Racing Louisville.”I’m excited to begin the year with the club, growing, learning, and winning.

I’m eager to get going. After five seasons in college, Hase joins the NWSL. Although she can play forward and winger, she was Duke’s wingback. She played central midfield in high school.

Racing instructor Bev Yanez stated, “We have been following Ella for a while and have been so impressed with her demeanor.” She works really hard on both sides of the ball and never quits. We think she would be a fantastic addition to our club given her skill and personality.

It will be a pleasure to have her here. Hase began attending Northwestern University for her collegiate education after growing up in the Chicago region. She was selected to the All-Big Ten second team the following season after helping guide the Wildcats to the Sweet 16 in 2022.

During her 93 games in college, including 88 starts, she finished with 17 goals and 23 assists. Her four assists in the NCAA Tournament were the second-most ever for the Blue Devils, and her 13 assists in her last season rank third all-time for a single season at Duke.
