In the final hours of the summer transfer window, Bruno Guimaraes, a Newcastle midfielder, is said to have been a target for Liverpool

Because of this, Newcastle has taken action in an effort to bind him to a new contract on Tyneside and make it difficult for Liverpool to attempt to sign him in the following transfer window.
