Tottenham Hotspur have made good use of their roster after Harry Kane’s departure from Hotspur Way

Tottenham Hotspur forwards Richarlison and Son Heung-min could play the number nine role at Hotspur Way this season, according to journalist Dean Jones, who relayed a word from inside the club to GIVEMESPORT.

To develop an offensive Lilywhites squad, Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou must use the duo to his advantage.

Tottenham Hotspur news: Richarlison and Son
After a major development at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the summer transfer window, there has been much conjecture regarding the future of Tottenham’s center-forwards this season. Spurs have no choice but to rely on their own players in the number nine position after selling record goalscorer Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in a transaction worth £35 million.

Despite the profit from the England captain’s sale, Postecoglou hasn’t brought in any first-choice centre-forwards, but Nottingham Forest and Wales forward Brennan Johnson was signed on Deadline Day. That’s because Tottenham spent £60 million last season to recruit Everton and Brazil forward Richarlison, who might be Kane’s long-term replacement at number nine. However, the 26-year-old has struggled to make an impact, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 40 outings since making his debut last year.

Meanwhile, Son Heung-min can play as a centre-forward, as he demonstrated last weekend when he scored a hat-trick in Tottenham’s 5-2 demolition of Burnley. After signing Johnson, Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge told GIVEMESPORT that the Lilywhites will have a quiet conclusion to Deadline Day, implying that Postecoglou has faith in his striker options.
