In recent weeks, Liverpool has been widely linked with Southampton’s Romeo Lavia
The Reds have already made significant progress in the summer transfer window, having signed two elite midfielders.
Alexis MacAllister arrived at Anfield earlier in the window, followed by Dominik Szoboszlai.
The Reds are apparently interested in Lavia, who was one of the best young players in the Premier League last season.
With Southampton currently in the Championship, the 19-year-old will need to find a new club to keep his place in the Premier League.
According to Fabrizio Romano of GiveMeSport, Liverpool are not thrilled with Lavia’s £50 million valuation.
However, he cited sources who said that a ‘unique formula’ could assist the Reds reach an agreement.
Romano believed that the Saints could benefit from some add-ons or perhaps adding a player to the mix.
“The price tag for Romeo Lavia is around £50 million,” the Italian added.
“However, sources believe that with some add-ons or a creative formula, such as including some players, they may be able to reach an agreement with Southampton.”
In our opinion
Last season, Lavia made an exciting breakthrough, standing out in a bad club that was relegated.
If he’s that brilliant on a losing team, imagine what he could be like in a trophy-chasing squad.
Lavia, described by Alex Iwobi as having’scary’ potential, would be another interesting addition to Liverpool if he arrives.

‘100%’ Signing: Liverpool completes defender deal – Lynch Exclusive
According to Football Insider, Liverpool will “100 percent” acquire a center-back this summer
The Reds are presently scouting the market for a new center defense and have made preliminary moves.
Although it appears doubtful that Joel Matip would leave this summer, the Reds are aiming to get ahead of the curve and prepare for his prospective departure by bringing in defensive reinforcements.
Micky van de Ven of Wolfsburg is one of the alternatives being considered by the Merseysiders, and Football Insider has discovered that there is a 100 percent possibility the club will bring in a new centre-back in the upcoming window.
Van de Ven’s current deal with the German club runs until 2027 after signing an extension earlier this year, but he is said to be the type of player the Reds are seeking for.
This season, the 22-year-old earned 33 Bundesliga matches, including all of them as a starter.
Goncalo Inacio of Sporting is another name on Liverpool’s list, although his current deal expires in 2026, and it’s uncertain whether the Portuguese club would be ready to let him depart this summer.
The 21-year-old started 43 of his 51 games this season, and the Reds may not be able to offer him as much game time as he might if he stayed in Portugal.
Jurgen Klopp’s team inquired about Josko Gvardiol in January as the type of player they wanted to add to their back line, but were swiftly ruled out owing to the possible cost of a transaction.
