We reported last week from Portugal that Manchester United fullback Alex Telles wanted to return to Porto.
Given his lack of opportunities with the Red Devils next season, he allegedly made his previous club his ‘priority’ in the summer transfer window.
Since Manchester United is rumored to be interested in Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa, it was only a matter of time until two and two were combined. Today, Correio da Manh accomplishes just that.
It’s been said that because the Red Devils want the Portugal international but are unwilling to pay his €75 million release clause, Telles may be a viable option.
The plan is to loan the fullback to Porto and pay a large portion of his contract, which is €5.5 million net each season.
Porto manager Sérgio Conceiço is rumored to want Telles back, so it’s the kind of transfer that would benefit everyone.
There’s also the Dragons’ requirement to make €50 million before the end of the month. Even with the reduction, Manchester United would match Porto‘s minimum asking.
