According to reports, Manchester United are set to launch an incredible bid to capture Nicolo Barella from Inter, despite a deal to get Mason Mount from Chelsea apparently being close.

Newcastle recently shown serious interest in Barella, but were ultimately unable to match Inter’s value of the player. However, the Champions League runners-up may still be anticipating interest in him from other clubs.

Man United, according to FC Inter News, will make their own huge bid for Barella in the coming days. They will have to pay more than €70 million, given that Newcastle‘s bid of that amount was rejected.
According to reports, Inter might be asking for a price of up to €100 million. They are comparing West Ham‘s value of Arsenal and Manchester City target Declan Rice.

Man United, on the other hand, has made it obvious that they intend to pursue Barella. His agency, as well as his current employers, are aware of their interest.

Barella is still under contract with Inter until 2026. Man United have recently been mentioned as potential suitors for his left-back partner Federico Dimarco.

However, Barella would be the more eye-catching signing. Man United would have to fight out Arsenal to lure him to the Premier League in their colors.

According to the source, Arsenal is also interested in signing Barella. Although Rice is their main goal, the Gunners may need to sign another midfielder if they sell Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.

Barella would be permitted to continue playing in the Champions League if he joined Manchester United or Arsenal, just as he would if he stayed at Inter.

Man United is gaining ground on Mount before Barella.

If Manchester United make a play for him, it will be a strong show of intent, considering their growing confidence in acquiring Mount from Chelsea.

According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United and Chelsea have reached an agreement on Mount’s cost, which will be about £60 million.

It falls perfectly between the value of Manchester United’s first bid – £50 million – and Chelsea’s ideal asking price of £70 million.

Mount pushed for the move by stating that he would not renew his contract with Chelsea, which expires in a year. As a result, the Blues are forced to sell.

Erik ten Hag now hopes he will have Mount available by the time Manchester United depart for their pre-season tour.

The Chelsea academy graduate will follow N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic out of Cobham after their departures to Al Ittihad and Manchester City, respectively.

In Mount’s case, a move to Manchester United is the best choice. If Barella also ends up at Old Trafford, Ten Hag’s midfield will be significantly strengthened.

For the second part of the season, they had Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich, and they might also let Scott McTominay go this summer. Mount and Barella would be viable replacements for the departed duo.

As things stand, there should be far more certainty about the Mount transaction before there is any excitement about Barella. However, if the FC Inter News source is correct, it may not be long before the second chase begins.
