Bayern Munich wants to sell Liverpool’s ‘world-class’ target as soon as feasible

Bayern Munich are apparently eager to offload Benjamin Pavard as quickly as possible, with Liverpool among the clubs interested in signing him.

The Bundesliga winners are ready to unload the French international after the player notified Bayern that he wants to depart for a fresh challenge this summer, according to Bild. Liverpool is one of a few major teams interested in signing Pavard.

According to the article, Pavard is also being pursued by FC Barcelona, AC Milan, and Inter Milan. With the defender’s contract with Bayern expiring in 2024, there’s a clear reason why the German giants are willing to trade him this summer rather than lose him for free the following year.

Pavard’s ability to play as a centre-back and a right-back has justifiably made the defender a desirable asset for top European teams, and Liverpool will be well aware of Bayern’s new position on the Frenchman, lauded as ‘world-class’ by former Bayern manager Niko Kovac.

Indeed, if the Reds can beat off Barcelona and Inter to Pavard’s signing, they will have won the jackpot. With Bayern now willing to offload the former VfB Stuttgart midfielder, Liverpool might soon be in pole position to sign the 27-year-old.

With Bayern looking to sell Pavard, Liverpool must pounce. Depending on which club wins the race for the defender, this could be one of the most important transfers of the summer window, and Liverpool should be doing everything they can to ensure they are the side who claims the Bundesliga champions’ signature.

As we all know, Pavard fills a void in Liverpool’s roster that no other player in Europe can cover, and with Bayern ready to moving the Frenchman, a move should be on Jurgen Klopp‘s radar before a rival side swoops for the 27-year-old.
