Liverpool have been connected with French international and Bayern Munich player Benjamin Pavard, and speculations suggest that a move to Anfield is imminent.

Christian Falk has stated that the Merseysiders are in talks with Bayern Munich to sign the versatile defender during the summer transfer window.

Yesterday, Spanish publication Sport claimed (news image below) that the 27-year-old’s future “would be close to Liverpool.”

According to the Catalan source, Pavard was offered to Barcelona months ago, and the Blaugrana seriously considered signing him when it appeared that Jules Kounde may quit the club.

Because the former Sevilla defender is anticipated to stay, the Spanish champions will now need to buy a right back next year.

Pavard, on the other hand, is not going to wait until 2024; he is leaving this summer, and thanks to Barcelona’s decision, Liverpool are getting closer to signing him.

Sport claims that Inter Milan inquired about employing the 2018 World Cup winner, but Bayern’s asking price of £25.6 million (30 million euros) makes it difficult for the Nerazzurri to enter the bidding.

Earlier in the day, Fabrizio Romano, a well-known journalist, said that the Reds intend to hire a new center half during the summer transfer window. Furthermore, David Lynch suggested that the Reds could recruit a right-sided defender.

Pavard is a natural right back, but he effectively played center back for the German champions in the last campaign.

His versatility might be a significant benefit for Klopp, who will require a quality RB if he continues to play Trent Alexander-Anold in the middle, who was average defensively last season.

What do you think? Should Liverpool bid £25.6 million for Benjamin Pavard?
