According to Football Scotland, Jack Butland has completed his Rangers physical after leaving Manchester United on loan
In January, the 30-year-old goalkeeper joined the Red Devils on loan from Crystal Palace.
Butland did not play for Manchester United, but he was a regular on the bench.
The former England international was included to the matchday squad for Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester City.
The Old Trafford club is apparently willing to match Rangers’ bid to keep him on a permanent basis.
It looks that both parties have chosen to part ways.
Butland has been tracked by the Scottish Premiership club for some time and has now been signed.
Rangers have made available Allan McGregor and manager Michael Beale are looking for a good alternative for the experienced goaltender.
Butland may not have played for Manchester United, but he is still regarded as a quality goalkeeper.
The fact that he was signed after Newcastle United recalled Martin Dubravka speaks volumes.
A move to Rangers may have been too appealing for the former Stoke City player to pass up.
He will be able to play regularly for the Scottish Premiership club and may also be able to compete in the Champions League next season.
The Light Blues finished second in the league behind Celtic, but they have qualified for the third round of Europe’s best club competition.
