City’s victory secured their second trophy of the 2022/23 season, with Pep Guardiola’s side still aiming for the treble when they face Inter Milan in the Champions League next weekend.

Jurgen Klopp’s side fell short in all competitions this season after winning two trophies the previous season, but will be hoping to bounce back to compete for the biggest prizes next year.

City may be adding to their trophy cabinet under Pep Guardiola’s leadership, but the Sky Blues have half the number of major trophies as Liverpool in their history. United are the team closest to catching the Reds in this category, and they missed a chance to add to their tally on Saturday afternoon at Wembley.
