‘Not happy,’ says Fabrizio Romano of Liverpool’s ‘phenomenal’ target.

Liverpool are interested in Ryan Gravenberch, according to Fabrizio Romano, ahead of the summer transfer window

The ‘phenomenal’ Dutchman (as described by Ben Jacobs for TEAMtalk via Football365) is said to be unhappy with his current lack of playing time at Bayern Munich (having secured just over 700 minutes across all competitions this season) and is set to meet with the club to discuss his future.

“As a result, he will meet with Thomas Tuchel and the board at the end of the season, possibly in May, to discuss his future.”

“However, Ryan Gravenberch is dissatisfied with the current situation.” He wants to play, develop, and grow, which is why the Gravenberch situation is open.

“Bayern is still convinced he is a top talent, which is why they will fight to keep him and will speak with him.” Let us wait and see what Graveberch decides.

“There is always Premier League interest.” Top clubs approached Bayern in January, but Bayern declined.

“For the summer, Liverpool is pursuing the player, but other Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on the situation.”

With at least two players set to leave this summer – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita’s contracts expire this summer – and potentially a third if James Milner’s contract is extended, there are clear gaps for quality talent to fill.

Gravenberch, at 20 years old, would tick a lot of boxes for our recruitment department in terms of his age profile, especially if the £25 million asking price floating around online is even remotely close to the mark.

With the likes of Alexis MacAllister and Mason Mount set to cost in excess of £50 million each, coaxing the player away from the Allianz Arena would have to be considered a coup on our part, potentially freeing funds for other departments in need of a refresh, such as the backline.
