Wow, “Would be an outstanding signing for Liverpool,” exclaimed a BBC pundit upon hearing the rumor.

This summer, Liverpool may add a midfielder of truly elite caliber to their team

If Liverpool signs Joshua Kimmich as is rumored, they will have made a standout acquisition this summer.

The Reds have regressed in 2022–2023 after nearly completing a quadruple in the previous campaign.

Jurgen Klopp had little control over Liverpool’s course this season due to the toll of playing so many games and the failure to address the midfield problems prior to the season’s start.

Now that the beginning of the transfer window is drawing nearer, Liverpool is being linked with an increasing number of midfielders.

The possibility of Joshua Kimmich trading the Allianz Arena for Anfield is one of the most intriguing rumors.

Joshua Kimmich is he joining Liverpool?
According to a report in the Spanish newspaper Marca, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Arsenal are interested in signing the German midfielder this summer.

But BBC analyst Alan Hutton says he doesn’t think the 28-year-old would leave Bayern this summer in an interview with Football Insider.

Wow, in my opinion, Liverpool would make a fantastic signing, he said.

He is an outstanding football player and, at the age of 28, still has a lot of football left in him, but, to be completely honest, I don’t see him moving from where he is.

Although I do not see it happening, I think it would be a really good signing for Liverpool and that kind of player is what they need to rebuild the midfield.

What makes Kimmich desirable to Liverpool?
One of the most well-liked players in Europe, the Bayern midfielder has won praise from people like Pep Guardiola in the past. Naturally, the Spanishman oversaw him while he was in Bavaria.

However, Kimmich is now 28 and has run out of time to test himself outside of the Bundesliga.

If he really is moving this summer, Liverpool would be making a big mistake if they didn’t sign him because he could help with a lot of Klopp’s issues.

He doesn’t have a history of injuries, and on FBref, which compares his recent performances to those of players in a position similar to his, he ranks in the 99th percentile for most passing metrics. This supports his reputation as one of the most organized players in the team.

As a result of Liverpool’s failure to make the Champions League, they may need to make a statement in the transfer market to help them find a way back into Europe’s premier club competition. His contract expires in 2025, so signing him would not be inexpensive.
