Klopp’s men are fighting to qualify for next year’s Champions League, less than a year after their hopes of an unprecedented quadruple sprint were dashed. Whether they finish in the top four or not, big changes are on the way at Anfield.

A revamp of Klopp’s midfield is in the works, and a number of high-profile names, including Brighton talisman Alexis MacAllister and Bayern Munich’s much-loved Ryan Gravenberch, have already been linked with a move to Liverpool.

However, Klopp and the Anfield hierarchy will have their sights set on more than just incoming deals this summer, with a slew of players set to leave Merseyside permanently in the coming months. Given Klopp’s desire to rebuild his midfield, it’s no surprise that the majority of names expected to leave Anfield are midfielders.

Arthur Melo has failed to make an impact since accepting a deadline loan in the summer, and he confirmed earlier this week that he hopes to say ‘goodbye’ to Liverpool fans.

before rejoining Juventus this summer.

Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, both midfielders, will leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of the season. Both have suffered from injuries and have been linked with January transfers.

It also appears that James Milner will follow this trio out the door, with a move to Brighton being considered. The 37-year-old is also in the final year of his contract, and Klopp stated earlier this week that Milner is considering a different path in his playing career.

James Milner appears to be following that trio out the exit door, with a move to Brighton being discussed. The 37-year-old is also in the final year of his contract, and Klopp stated earlier this week that Milner is leaning toward finishing his playing career elsewhere.

Last but not least, Anfield favorite Roberto Firmino has already confirmed that he will be moving on to greener pastures when his contract expires in a few months.

Firmino has scored over 100 goals for Liverpool since joining from Hoffenheim eight years ago, earning him cult hero status, but he has been in and out of the team in recent months. As a free agent, the striker is expected to have his pick of clubs. Barcelona is rumored to be interested in his services.

A number of other players, including defenders Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams, could be sacrificed this summer to fund Klopp’s ambitious rebuild, though nothing has been confirmed. Summer signing Fabio Carvalho, who has made just one Premier League appearance this season, may also be considering his future.
