During Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday, Alisson sent a direct message to John Brooks
The official was in the spotlight for the wrong reasons after he failed to show Tyrone Mings a red card for clearly booting Cody Gakpo in the torso shortly before halftime, instead deeming yellow to be sufficient punishment.
The Reds goalkeeper was understandably enraged, and as he removed his shirt to show the damage, he imitated a kicking motion to show Brooks what the Villa defender had done.
Simply put, the officials were taken aback by the incident yesterday, and it shouldn’t have taken the Liverpool players forcibly making their point for them to realize that Mings was wrong.
Incredibly funny that Alisson felt the ref needed a physical demo of what Mings did to Gakpo yesterday. Absolute icon. pic.twitter.com/X4Fdf04Xje
