Klopp is adamant that the £180,000-a-week player is finally “back” and that he can help Liverpool finish in the top four.

It’s been a difficult season for many members of Jurgen Klopp’s team, and he’s had to juggle out-of-form players as well as physical difficulties, but the victory against Manchester United revealed that one man, in particular, could be back to his former best, which speaks well for the club’s top-four chances

“Hendo didn’t start the last game, what a performance tonight, absolutely great, and Fab is back,” the manager stated following our victory over Manchester United (via the club’s official website).

“Final line is also in a better moment, so it’s as if it needs to be. As I already stated, we must make these results count in the outcome of the next game. It is what we strive for.”

Fabinho has undoubtedly suffered the most this season, and many had written him off, but the Brazilian delivered a great effort in our 7-0 thrashing of Erik ten Hag’s team.

The man earning a rumoured £180,000 per week (according to Capology) being back to his best would be big, and you can tell from the boss’s statements that he believes we are nearing our impenetrable best in the center of the park.

Improvements among our senior players might be the deciding factor in reducing the gap to the top four and fending off threats from the likes of Brighton and Newcastle United.

It’s going to be a summer of transition in that position, so there will be a lot of change in the coming months, but Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara, Harvey Elliott, and our No.3 are all likely to be excellent choices next year as well, and having them back in form would be significant.

With at least a handful of new midfielders ready to enter the AXA training center, having that vital knowledge at the club to pass on to younger heads can only be a good thing.
