LOOK: 2026 Stars Caleb Holt and Maximo Adams Shine in Kentucky Blue During Official Visits
The recruiting machine in Lexington is rolling again, and Mark Pope is making sure the next generation of Wildcats feels right at home.
Over the weekend, Kentucky basketball welcomed two of the most exciting prospects in the class of 2026 five-star guard Caleb Holt and four-star wing Maximo Adams for official visits that turned into a Big Blue spectacle. Both Holt and Adams posted photos in full Kentucky gear on Instagram, giving the Big Blue Nation a glimpse of what the future might look like if they choose to call Lexington home.
Holt, a 6-foot-5 guard ranked No. 4 overall by Rivals’ Industry Ranking, struck a pose alongside assistant coach Jason Hart, while Adams, a 6-foot-7 top-25 wing, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Pope himself. The images quickly spread across social media, sparking plenty of chatter about how dangerous Kentucky could look with either of these high-flyers on the roster.
And in case you missed it Adams’ older brother, Marcus Adams Jr., actually played for Pope at BYU. That family connection could become a sneaky factor in Kentucky’s pursuit.

Holt: A Southern Star With Blue Blood Options
Originally from Alabama, Holt has become one of the most sought-after guards in the 2026 cycle. Playing his high school ball at Prolific Prep (CA), he’s already racked up offers from every powerhouse in the SEC and beyond. He’s taken officials at Ole Miss and Arkansas, with upcoming visits to Alabama and Auburn next month. Both SEC programs are pushing hard to keep the in-state product close to home, but Kentucky’s pitch this weekend firmly planted the Wildcats in the race.
Holt earned his UK offer in July 2024, and Pope has made it clear that he’s a priority target. His mix of size, defensive instincts, and offensive versatility has scouts buzzing the type of cornerstone player Pope would love to build his future Kentucky lineups around.
Adams: A California Wing With Family Ties
Adams may not carry Holt’s five-star label, but his stock has soared after a monster summer on the Nike EYBL Circuit. The Sierra Canyon product earned his Kentucky offer this past July and has already visited USC, with a loaded slate of visits ahead including Michigan State, Kansas, Texas, UNC, and Duke.
At 6-foot-7 with length, athleticism, and a polished perimeter game, Adams checks every box for the modern college wing. Kentucky fans can’t help but imagine the chemistry he could form alongside other elite pieces in Pope’s system.
The Bigger Picture: Kentucky’s Recruiting Push
Holt and Adams are only the beginning of what promises to be a star-studded fall of official visits for Kentucky. Four-star center Arafan Diane will be on campus this coming weekend, with nine more 2026 prospects scheduled to visit between now and mid-October.
For Pope, who already has momentum from assembling an eye-catching 2025 class, this stretch is about cementing Kentucky’s place as the destination for top-tier talent. The blue carpet is out, the social media buzz is real, and recruits like Holt and Adams are soaking in the Kentucky experience.
If the Instagram photos are any indication, the Big Blue Nation may want to get comfortable picturing Holt and Adams in Wildcat blue because Pope and his staff are clearly swinging big.
Buckle up, BBN. The 2026 recruiting race is just getting started.
