Top Shooting Guard Caleb Holt Schedules Kentucky Visit, Weighs Multiple Programs
Five-star guard Caleb Holt, ranked No. 6 overall and the top shooting guard in the 2026 class by 247Sports, has locked in an official visit to Kentucky for the weekend of September 12, per national recruiting analyst Dushawn London.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pound standout from Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, had originally considered visiting Lexington on September 5, but has since rescheduled. He’s also lined up visits to Alabama (October 3) and Auburn(October 10), with plans to add official visits to Arkansas, Baylor, and Houston. Ole Miss and Providence remain in the mix as well.
“I’m not in a rush. No timetable yet,” Holt told 247Sports at the adidas 3SSB stop in Rock Hill, South Carolina, emphasizing that he’s keeping a close watch on the transfer portal and expects to make a decision in the spring.

Originally from New Market, Alabama, Holt played at Grayson High School in Georgia before transferring to Prolific Prep, which recently relocated from Napa, California to Fort Lauderdale.
Holt turned heads this summer on the adidas 3SSB circuit, averaging 20.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.0 steals per game with Game Elite. He also earned his third gold medal with Team USA, averaging 10.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists during the FIBA U19 World Cup in Switzerland.
Kentucky head coach Mark Pope—who visited Holt at home in April—also worked as an on-court coach during Team USA’s U19 training camp in Colorado Springs, building further rapport with the elite prospect.
247Sports Scouting Report:
Holt brings impressive strength, athleticism, and competitiveness to the perimeter. At 6-foot-5 with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, he plays with high intensity and is known for attacking downhill, finishing through contact, and defending multiple positions. While he’s working to become more of a true guard and consistent shooter, his mid-range game, motor, and defensive versatility make him one of the most physically imposing players in the class.
As Holt weighs his college options, schools across the country are making their case—but Kentucky is clearly positioning itself as a serious contender.
