Rangers are eyeing a new attacking addition this summer, and Sheffield Wednesday striker Josh Windass has emerged as a strong candidate.
In anticipation of a potential move, injury specialist Dr. Rajpal Brar has reviewed the 31-year-old’s recent fitness and playing record.
Windass fit and ready for Ibrox return
Windass featured in 44 of 46 league matches last season for Wednesday, a sign of impressive durability. According to Dr. Brar, the forward should easily pass any medical requirements ahead of a possible switch.
Speaking to Ibrox News, Dr. Brar explained:
“He appeared in nearly every game last season, which speaks volumes. I don’t see any red flags from a medical standpoint.
Even at 31, while he may no longer be at his physical peak, he should transition smoothly into the Scottish Premiership without needing limited minutes early on.”

Windass would boost Rangers’ attacking options
Bringing Windass back to Ibrox could be a smart move for manager Russell Martin, who’s looking to strengthen his frontline. The experienced attacker offers tactical flexibility, capable of playing as a striker or in an advanced midfield role.
His 13 goals and five assists in the Championship last season underline his value in front of goal and ability to link play—traits that fit well into Martin’s fast-paced, high-pressing style.
Given his previous stint at Ibrox, familiarity with the club, and Sheffield Wednesday’s current financial struggles, Windass could be a cost-effective signing who adds depth and reliability—especially amid uncertainty surrounding Cyriel Dessers.
All signs point toward a potentially shrewd addition as Rangers look to mount a serious title challenge this season.
