BREAKING: 5-Star Phenom Jason Crowe Jr. Just Set His Commitment Date—Fans Are Losing Their Minds Over Where He’ll Go!

Could this be promising news for the Wildcats?

Mark Pope and his staff have been extremely active in pursuing several top-10 prospects in the 2026 recruiting class. While many of these recruitments will extend into the fall and winter as players line up their official visits, Coach Pope and Big Blue Nation are about to get clarity on at least one target in the coming weeks.

According to Joe Tipton of On3, 5-star guard Jason Crowe Jr. is set to announce his college choice on July 18th. Though he hasn’t officially released a list of finalists, programs most frequently linked to Crowe include Kentucky, Washington, USC, Alabama, Baylor, UCLA, among others.

Crowe, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard from Inglewood, California, has long been viewed by Kentucky fans as one of the marquee names to watch in Pope’s first full recruiting cycle.

One major factor behind the connection? Jason Hart.
Coach Hart has a longstanding relationship with the Crowe family dating back to his own high school playing days. There’s been a lot of speculation that Hart’s deep ties in California will pay off in this cycle, which is loaded with elite talent from the West Coast. This could end up being the first commitment that sets off a chain reaction.

Crowe is rated as a five-star prospect and sits at No. 6 overall in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports Composite.

Stay tuned—Kentucky might soon secure its first pledge in the 2026 class.
