USC football outperforms LSU and Alabama in terms of a four-star pass-catching weapon.

The USC football program secured a major addition on Friday, landing 4-star wide receiver Boobie Feaster and strengthening what is already the nation’s top-ranked 2026 recruiting class.

While some considered their first Big Ten season under head coach Lincoln Riley somewhat underwhelming, USC is determined to raise the bar in 2025. The Trojans bring back a solid core of talent and have again been effective in the transfer portal. Currently, their 2026 high school recruiting class sits atop the national rankings, per On3. That group just got even stronger with Feaster’s commitment, announced by recruiting insider Hayes Fawcett on X (formerly Twitter).

“BREAKING: Elite 2026 WR Boobie Feaster has committed to USC, he tells me for @Rivals,” Fawcett posted. “The 6’2”, 180-pound receiver from DeSoto, Texas, picked the Trojans over Alabama, LSU, and Texas A&M. ‘Let’s do it! I heard they do it better out west.’”

Feaster becomes the latest blue-chip prospect in what has quickly become a loaded class for Riley and his staff. With quarterback Jayden Maiava entering his junior year, it’s possible Feaster could be catching passes from him by 2026. Feaster’s pledge gives USC 10 four-star recruits already committed in the 2026 cycle, with more likely to join.

Looking ahead, will USC take a step forward in their second year as a Big Ten member?

Until their Week 6 showdown against Michigan, the Trojans are expected to be favored in most of their early-season matchups. Beyond Michigan, only a few other teams are likely to pose significant challenges. After playing the Wolverines, USC will head to South Bend to face historic rival Notre Dame. They’ll also host the Iowa Hawkeyes before a potentially pivotal late-season clash with Oregon.

Even with that demanding schedule, USC could very well be in contention for a College Football Playoff berth by the time they meet the Ducks. Even if the Trojans drop a game or two to Notre Dame or Iowa, Riley, Maiava, and the rest of the squad should remain in strong playoff position.

If USC can indeed make a push for the CFP, Feaster and the rest of the 2026 class will be stepping into a program with big momentum and an even brighter future.
