South Carolina to Host Virginia Tech in 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge
BRISTOL, Conn. (South Carolina Athletics) – ESPN has revealed the matchups for the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge, with South Carolina set to face Virginia Tech at Colonial Life Arena on Tuesday, December 2.
Exact tip-off times and broadcast details will be announced at a later date.
The ACC/SEC Challenge began in 2023, and the Gamecocks have posted a perfect 2-0 record so far, notching victories against Notre Dame at home in 2023 and Boston College on the road last season.
Last year, the SEC dominated the event with a 14-2 overall record, while the first edition of the Challenge in 2023 ended in a 7-7 tie between the two conferences.

Historically, South Carolina holds a 20-13 advantage over Virginia Tech in their all-time series. The Gamecocks earned a dramatic 79-77 win over the Hokies in the second game of the 2023 season at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte — their first meeting since 1997. B.J. Mack sealed that win with a clutch basket in the final 20 seconds, finishing with 19 points and six rebounds. That game also marked head coach Lamont Paris’ 100th career win.
The two teams met again last season at the Fort Myers Tip-Off, where South Carolina secured a 70-60 victory in the third-place game of the Beach Division. The Gamecocks sank 11 three-pointers, led by standout forward Collin Murray-Boyles, who tallied 16 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and two blocks.
