In a moment that underscores the true spirit of student-athletes, North Carolina Tar Heels forward Jae’Lyn Withers has proudly earned his master’s degree, marking a significant milestone in his academic and athletic journey.



Withers began his collegiate basketball career at the University of Louisville, where he redshirted his first year and went on to earn All-ACC Freshman Team honors in the 2020–21 season. After three seasons with the Cardinals, he transferred to UNC in 2023, seeking new challenges and opportunities. Over two seasons with the Tar Heels, he contributed significantly on the court, averaging 6.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in the 2024–25 season .


Beyond his athletic contributions, Withers demonstrated a commitment to personal development and community service. He was recognized with the ACC Top Six for Service Award for creating and maintaining a mentorship program at a local middle school, supporting minority eighth-grade boys as they transition to high school .
