The former manager of Chelsea is “leading” the strategic evaluation of Rangers.

Mike Forde has been appointed to lead Rangers’ internal review of their football operations, according to a report.

As reported by *The Scottish Sun*, the former Chelsea executive has taken on the responsibility of overseeing the club’s internal evaluation after being recruited by new Rangers CEO Patrick Stewart. The review is part of a broader initiative aimed at improving the club’s long-term performance and strategic direction.

Forde brings extensive experience to the role, having served as Chelsea’s director of football operations for six years until 2014. During his tenure at Stamford Bridge, he played a key role in shaping the club’s footballing infrastructure and strategic planning. Additionally, he has worked with Bolton Wanderers, further adding to his wealth of knowledge in football operations and club management.

The review will be conducted by Sportsology, a consultancy firm specializing in providing strategic insights to sports organizations. Their objective is to equip clients with the necessary tools and frameworks to gain a competitive advantage. Sportsology has previously worked with high-profile teams across different sports, including the Philadelphia Eagles, who recently won the Super Bowl. Their expertise in analyzing and optimizing high-performance environments makes them well-suited to assist Rangers in this crucial assessment.

When addressing the Rangers fan advisory board, Stewart provided insights into the scope and significance of the review. He emphasized that it would be a thorough and comprehensive analysis, examining all aspects of the club’s football operations. He acknowledged that Rangers have not consistently met their ambitions in recent years and stressed the importance of evaluating every component of their current structure to drive improvement.

The review will focus on assessing the club’s setup at Auchenhowie, Rangers’ training facility, from multiple angles to ensure that the right foundations are in place for long-term success. This will include analyzing coaching methods, player development strategies, scouting and recruitment processes, and overall operational efficiency.

Stewart underscored the importance of aligning every decision with a singular goal—bringing sustained success to Rangers and making the supporters proud. He reassured fans that this review would not be just another routine internal assessment that results in a report gathering dust. Instead, it will be a proactive initiative, incorporating insights from external specialists who have worked with elite clubs worldwide. These experts bring an objective perspective, free from internal biases or personal agendas, ensuring that the review leads to meaningful and effective change.

By undertaking this extensive evaluation, Rangers aim to refine their approach, optimize their footballing infrastructure, and create a structure that positions the club for consistent success at the highest level.
