After a promising start in North London, the manager who left Celtic for Spurs in the summer has had a more difficult second half of the season. He has lost his last four Premier League games in a row, leaving his Champions League prospects hanging on a thread, with a 4-2 defeat to Liverpool the most recent blow.

It has raised doubts about what happens next for the former Soccerroos manager at Tottenham. With a CV that includes 5 titles with Celtic and achievements with clubs such as Yokohama F. Marinos, Keane believes it is time for Spurs to lower their man.

The Manchester United icon told Sky: “Right or wrong, we are reflecting on the last three, four, and five games. When he came in at the beginning of the season, there were significant problems. He used to be new to the Premier League.

“There were question marks over him, possibly on his CV, which was quite unfair. He’s had a tremendously first-rate season, but it’s just the last few video games that have fallen away, and you start analyzing Spurs and comprehending Spurs.

“There is almost a tenderness to them, and he has agreed to surrender all of that. When he looks back in the summer, he will see some positives, but getting to the next level, competing or qualifying for the Champions League, will be the most difficult step. Give this man a chance.”

Tony Cascarino, a former Celtic and Ireland striker, believes Postecoglou’s high-octane offensive style has been observed out. He told The Times: “They made it the best game for Liverpool at Anfield yesterday, and it showed with the sheer number of chances the home side had in the first half.

“It used to be too easy for Liverpool down the right, with stand-in left back Emerson Royale left isolated to cope with Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold on numerous occasions, and he struggled to deal with them.

“That’s what Crystal Palace did after winning the game. Spurs want to play in large games with players who can preserve the ball, something they do not have enough of. James Maddison is one of them, and I was surprised he didn’t start; Spurs looked better after he came on.”

The Anfield Flashpoint sparks “Common Sense” Celtic attack at the SFA from Chris Sutton.

Chris Sutton, a Sky Sports analyst, has criticised the SFA, John Beaton, and Don Robertson’s handling of a disputed incident involving Celtic player Yang earlier this season.

The incident occurred during a match against Hearts at Tynecastle, when Yang was sent off for an excessive boot, a decision that was later upheld by a VAR panel during its quarterly review.

Chris Sutton, who is watching from afar, understands how important today’s 3-0 victory over Hearts was for Celtic.

The Edinburgh side has grabbed six high-priced points from Celtic this season and arrived in Glasgow with Scotland’s top scorer determined to inflict more damage on the hoops.

In the Daily Record this morning, Sutton underlined the opportunity presented by Lawrence Shankland, but beyond a shot in the first minute, the Hearts captain received little attention.

At the opposite end of the park, Kyogo Furuhashi displayed his ability and desire for the big event with two scientific finishes in the first 25 minutes, during which Hearts had as much possession as the hosts.

The 0.33 goal remained elusive until the 87th minute, but it guaranteed that Celtic kept in top gear as they pushed and pressured for the goal, eventually eliminating any chance of a comeback by Hearts.

Sutton will be ringside for the Glasgow Derby next Saturday; since the beginning of the year, the title has appeared to be slipping away, but a win this week will put Celtic at least six points ahead with two games remaining.

Tomorrow, Sky Sports will be at Ibrox for Kilmarnock’s visit, with Sutton expected to search on as the emphasis shifts on Phil Clement and his players.

Daizen Maeda claimed that he was moved by Celtic Aid’s response as he returned to action. The Japanese attacker’s season appeared to be finished after suffering a hamstring injury against Rangers at Ibrox, but in typical Maeda manner, he defied expectations and recovered to full fitness.

Taking to Twitter/X, Maeda said that he was once moved by the support from the spectators as he returned to action.

Celtic were fantastic in their 3-0 victory against Hearts, preparing for the Glasgow Derby against Rangers the following Saturday. The return of Maeda is a huge boost for a variety of reasons, but most notably because of his ability to torment Rangers captain James Tavernier.

The atmosphere at Celtic Park was fantastic, and the manager will be hoping that his team can continue this weekend and finish the season on a high note.

This is Maeda’s second return to action.
