‘So weak’… Mark Wilson says there’s a ‘lazy’ participant at Celtic who shouldn’t be near the first-team

A can of worms used to be opened up on Saturday when Celtic dropped factors to Kilmarnock, wasn’t it?

The Celtic fans made their feelings perfectly clearwhen the full-time whistle went at Parkhead and for the reason that then there has been a entire host of criticism aimed at the club.

But as most of the highlight falls on the recruitment side of the club’s business, it was a signing made by means of Ange Postecoglou that is on the receiving end of this trendy scathing assessment.

Alexandro Bernabei has been hitting the headlines over current weeks with his semi-decent performances as he filled in for the injured Greg Taylor.

However, after coming on as a second-half substitute towards Kilmarnock, the Argentine fullback did nothing to promote his case for being a started in the eyes of Mark Wilson.

In fact, Wilson believes that after his part in the Killie equaliser, Bernabei should be nowhere near the Celtic first team.

Wilson stated [Superscoreboard], “No, he shouldn’t be. And I hate being harsh on players because people assume it’s handy to play for Celtic and you’ve bought a lot of the ball.

“Now that’s a failing on the section of recruitment, Brendan Rodgers himself not bringing any person in. But when you get given the jersey and you get put on you have received to be extra resolute than Bernabei is.

“Now, I made a joke when Bernabei was once coming on for Tayolr and I said, ‘Oh, you get entertainment one way or the other. There’s a bit of chaos coming on.’

“So I knew he would do something. I just didn’t comprehend what aspect of the pitch it was going to be.

“I knew there was some thing that was once going to transpire with him coming on. I mean, so susceptible defensively if you look at the goal.

“And do you understand what I think that is? That’s lazy defending. That’s ‘I don’t favor to project for this ball. I a feeler wee bit of strain on me so I’m just going to hope that the ref gives a push.’

“That’s lazy defending.”

Indeed, this is not the first time Bernanbei has come beneath some scathing criticism at Celtic. Missing Rodgers’ first-ever group assembly at the beginning of the season certainly didn’t endear the 23-year-old to the Celtic manager.

And after his modern day mistake in opposition to Kilmarnock, I would be surprised if we ever saw him in a Celtic jersey ever again.
