Exclusive: Celtic transfer collapses after 23-yr-old jets out for exit talks

Celtic defender Yuki Kobayashi’s mortgage pass to HJK Helsinki has collapsed, sources have advised Football Insider.

The 23-year-old had flown out for talks with the Finnish membership after being given the inexperienced light by the Glasgow giants to move.

HJK have been keen to sign Kobayashi with their transfer window open from now till April and negotiations had been progressing.


But the pass is presently off with the player now returning to education with his Hoops teammates.

Kobayashi is properly down the pecking order at Celtic and has yet to function for Brendan Rodgers’ facet this season.

He has featured in just one matchday squad so some distance in the 2023-24 campaign.

The centre-back joined Celtic from Vissel Kobe in January 2023 and signed a deal going for walks until May 2028.

He grew to become out seven instances in the second half of of remaining season below former boss Ange Postecoglou however has been deemed surplus to requirements via new boss Rodgers.
