Another day, another story indicating Enzo Fernandez might be on his way to Liverpool, with just two days until the Reds’ Carabao Cup meeting with Manchester City
Enzo’s “favorite” is supposed to be Liverpool.
Following a slew of reports from Portugal and Argentina claiming Liverpool had a “pre-agreement” to sign Fernandez last week, another optimistic story emerged in Portugal on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old has made a move to Liverpool his “priority,” according to O Jogo, who were an excellent source of news for Darwin Nunez’s move to Anfield and last week reported Liverpool had made a “promise to match” any other offers for Fernandez.
This is because the Reds have already reached an agreement with his agent, with several other clubs from Spain, England, Italy, and France discovering of Fernandez’s “desire” after making recent enquiries.
According to the source, Benfica have no intention of selling him in January, despite the fact that his release clause is set at €120 million.
This comes after River al Instante, a River Plate news site, said that Liverpool will offer £80 million for Fernandez in a contract that would keep him at Benfica until June, with his old club River Plate receiving more than £20 million of that sum.
